Born in Kerala1966, Murali did his BFA and MFA in print making from Visva- Bharati, Santhiniketan, and West Bengal.92-95 He also did his Diploma in painting from Govt. college of Arts, Trichur, Kerala. He has participated in several solo and group shows in India and abroad. The major ones including two men show at kashi art gallery 2007, Redding paint, a group show at soul flower gallery bankok 2007,Waging Peace, at Arts for Peace Gallery, New York, in Jan. 200, Rock+music+art Group show organized by Gallery Art Resource, Mumbai, Dec. 2006, Compensation for what has been lost, a jhony m.l. curated show at Travancore house new Delhi 2006.

The big draw exhibition of black and white works, at Crimson the Art Resource, Bangalore, Jan. 2007, Group show, organized by gallery Open Eyed Dreams, Dec. 2006, Durbar hall, Kochi. Paper flute, works on paper at Gallery space. Oct 7th 2006.

He has attended artist workshop organized by Chinthan Upadhyay, Sandarbh, Partapur, Rajasthan, in 2005, "Remembering Basheer" one day artist's camp organized by Kalapeetom and Pravasi Group, Kochi, in Aug 2001, Y.K.Sukla foundation graphic workshop organized at Kanoria Centre for Arts, Ahmedabad, in Nov. 2001, Viswakalasangamam, [international artist meet], Kochi, Organized by Changanpuza Smaraka Samity, Kalapeetom and stone foundation in 2001-02 and New Media art workshop organized by Max Muller Bhavan Bangalore-2002

He is a recipient of awards including Round Table 38 Calcutta - 1987-92, Merit scholarship, Kalabhavan, Shanthiniketan, 89-94, Cultural Scholarship (93/95) awarded by Department of Culture, Ministry of Human Resource Development, New Delhi, Kanoria Scholarship for Print Making –1997, Honorable Mention, West Bengal State Exhibition, Calcutta Information Centre – 1992, Junior Fellowship, research in fiber art, 97-99, awarded by Department of Culture, Ministry of Human Resource Development, Govt. of India, New Delhi,  Kerala State Lalit Kala Academy award 1997-98. His works are housed in many important private collections in Japan, France, Canada, Holland and India.
